Every day approximately 12,000 homeless kids attend school in Maricopa County, according to the Real Gift Foundation.

This statistic bothers Phoenix residents Larry and Linda Wilder. So for the eighth year in a row, the couple are hosting Bowl for Charity to try to help.

This year's fundraiser will be Sept. 20 at Brunswick Zone in Glendale. Registration is $20 prior to Sept. 1, and $30 thereafter.

The money raised will benefit the foundation, a non-profit organization that is committed to assisting homeless schoolchildren. Larry said he and his wife have been working with the group for several years.
