Those who watched the Phillies win this year's World Series were also watching part of Montgomery County on every pitch, every at-bat and every play of every game.
Since 1999, Schutt Sports in Litchfield has supplied the bases for the World Series, including this year's Fall Classic in Philadelphia and Tampa Bay.
The company, which also provides bases for every Major League Baseball team and many minor league and college teams, affixed special logos on the tops of the bases, something they've done since 2000.
The base with the top logo, and another World Series logo on the side, have been featured prominently in a recent Taco Bell marketing campaign that gave away a free taco if someone stole a base during the World Series.
The World Series isn't the only game that Schutt does the special top base logos for. The company has made special bases for the all-star game, Mother's Day, to commemorate Sept. 11 and for the final seasons of Busch Stadium, Shea Stadium and Yankee Stad......
